- Title: NatureScot Commissioned Report 746: Biological analyses of underwater video from proposed marine protected areas, renewable energy sites and spoil grounds around Scotland
- Summary:This document presents the results of the analysis of underwater videos and still photographic imagery collected during research cruises around Scotland, chiefly in 2013. Areas covered included the Shiant East Bank in the Minch, the approaches to Ullapool (including the Ullapool spoil ground and the Carn Skerries), spoil grounds off Wick, Orkney and around the mouth of Cromarty Firth, as well as areas identified for the development of renewable energy schemes off Islay, Lewis, Orkney, Shetland and to the east of Peterhead (Buchan Deeps) and Aberdeen. The principal aim of the work was to improve knowledge of the occurrence and distribution of species and habitats of recognised conservation importance in Scottish waters, particularly proposed protected features (PPFs) of Nature Conservation MPAs (both pMPAs and MPA search locations) and other priority marine features (PMFs).
